Jeremiah 18:1-4, 6; Isaiah 64:8, Psalms 139:13
Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.
So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.”
Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
What is going on in your life right now? Do you hear what God is asking of you? Can I not do with you, as this potter does? Are you being stubborn and not allowing God to mold you into something better? Do you feel inadequate for the purpose? Do you not want to be changed but remain the same?
When God made you in your mother’s womb he started to sculpt you into the person you are today. God is an artist; he is never finished, he continues until it is right! He is saying to you not to be afraid, he knows exactly what He is doing in your life! Trust Him for it is a good thing! And guess what?
God does not need your opinion he created beautifully, wonderfully you. He does not need you to tell Him how you would work best, for He already knows! What He wants from you is complete surrender.
Can you surrender to God today? Will you allow Him to mold you into the best in this season of life?
So I went down to the potter’s house, your House oh Lord and I see you working at the wheel. I know that you are shaping me as seemed best to you. You asked me. “Can I not do with you, as the potter does?” declares the Lord. I respond to you today Lord with a resounding yes you can!
Yes, Lord, you are my Father. I am the clay, you are the potter; I am the work of your hand.
I surrender to your changes in me oh Lord. I thank you for it! In Jesus Name! Amen
